What is the Course About?
This course is intended for learners who want to:
• Take the next step in training to become a counsellor
• Learn more about counselling theory, ethics and mental health
• Develop a repertoire of counselling skills at a consistent level for use in other work areas.
What are my progression and career options?
This qualification does not lead to employment as a counsellor. It is designed as pre-practitioner training for further courses at higher education level but it could also lead to employment in a related field.
How will I be assessed?
It is intended to give learners the opportunity to develop a range of counselling skills and skills in self-awareness and self-assessment.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements but a level 2 qualification in counselling skills would be advantageous and learners will be expected to attend an interview to discuss the course content and suitability to complete the course.
